Import from Excel
Load an existing workbook (.xlsx / .xlsm / .xls, BS&PL or BSPL sheet layout). The year columns are read from the sheet's header row — tell the app which of them is your current and previous year, then review the head mapping and apply. Works for the same years you are drafting, for last year's file (roll forward), and for files carrying three or more years. Depreciation and Capital Account sheets are detected separately.

Import from PDF (last year's signed financials)
Text is extracted from the PDF and rows that look like "head … amount amount" are proposed for mapping (best-effort — scanned/image PDFs won't work). Year columns are read from the first heading line that lists two or more years; map them below before applying.

Backup / restore (JSON)
A JSON backup contains everything for the active client — notes, schedules, workings, policies. Restore adds it as a new client.
{{ impMsg }}
Clear imported data
Undo the last import, or clear figures out of the notes to start again. Entity details, year labels and accounting policies are never touched by these. Every action here can be undone until you reload the page.
{{ impMsg }}
Figures in the notes
{{ clearCounts }}
Start over
Resets the notes to the standard heads with no amounts, and resets the depreciation schedule, partner list, tax and direct inputs. Entity name, address, PAN, year labels and policies are kept.
To remove a client entirely, use Clients ▸ Delete. To keep a copy before clearing, take a backup under Import ▸ Backup (JSON) or Export ▸ JSON backup.

Direct inputs (not from notes)
Note 3 (Capital) is under Schedules ▸ Capital Accounts · Notes 11 & 24 (PPE / Depreciation) are under Schedules ▸ Depreciation · Notes 1 & 2 under Schedules ▸ Policies. Grey right column = your rough workings — they land in the grey strip of the Excel export, outside the print area, so they never print.

Every head that already carries a figure, listed in note order. The head is fixed by the row it sits on, so you only type the {{ cyLabel }} amount next to the {{ pyLabel }} one — no mapping to choose. Highlighted rows are the ones still waiting for a figure.

Excel — ICAI format
Balance Sheet, Statement of P&L and Notes 1–25 laid out per the ICAI illustrative format for non-corporate entities. Opens in Page Break Preview; the grey strip on the right is outside the print area and is left empty for whoever reviews the file — your own workings are not included.
Excel — your format (new heads)
Your vertical BS&PL layout with the new ICAI reporting heads, plus Capital Account, Dep, Notes and Policies sheets. Opens in Page Break Preview with the print area set to the statement columns — every workings note you entered lands in the grey strip to the right, which never prints.
Print / PDF
Print-ready financial statements — BS, P&L, Notes, Depreciation, Capital and Policies. Use the browser's "Save as PDF". Workings never print.
